Fighter - Poem by Kayaeisha Shaw
Don't know what to do with my life.
Every move I make a new
Ever being born.
Sorrow and emptiness fill my
Forget feeling sorry for myself.
I refuse to
Hope is the reason I left.
To quit now would be a mistake.
I am a fighter.
It is in my blood.
My whole life I have fought.
Nothing has broken me,
And nothing ever will.
Fighting has turned my heart cold,
And my fists into stone.
Every scar on my fists
Tells a story.
A story of how I fought to survive.
