Fighting Myself Poem by Ximena Nunez

Fighting Myself

A girl, strong, beautiful, confident.
She's so sure about everything,
So happy,
Always smiling a radiant smile.
Living life, having fun;
She knows no sadness.

Then, there's another girl:
Quiet, insecure, unsure.
She's torn up inside,
Doesn't know how to trust.
She wants to give up,
Sees no point in life.
She knows no happiness.

Lastly, a little girl.
Daddy's little girl.
She's childish, carefree, full of life.
She looks at everything with fresh, optimistic eyes.
You won't catch her down;
She knows no pain.

All these girls
Fighting to get out
All battling to be in the spotlight.
How can I just be myself?
