Final Act Of Love Poem by Daniel Dante

Final Act Of Love

As my final act of love,
I place silence between us—
not out of spite,
but as the only gift left
that won't ask you to stay.

No more messages at midnight,
no more reaching for a hand
that's not reaching back.
This is not surrender—
it's a sacred letting go.

I will not beg the stars to send you back.
Instead, I will become
the man I once described in trembling tones—
strong, steady,
the storm that learns to rain gently.

I will carry your absence like a compass,
let it point me to growth,
to patience,
to peace.
You were the fire
and now I'll be the warmth
without the burn.

I won't knock on closed doors again.
But I will build my own home,
filled with the echoes
of lessons your love taught me.
You may never see it,
but I will become everything
I promised—
not for you,
but because I meant it.

This—
my silence,
my healing,
my rise—
is the final act
of a heart
that once loved you
completely.
