I walked a road of heavy stone,
And felt I had to walk alone.
My words were lost, my heart was tight,
I searched for stars within the night.
I wore a mask to fit the view,
And suffered for the things I knew.
But now the air is soft and clear,
I've left behind the weight of fear.
The heavy chains have slipped away,
To welcome in a brighter day.
I do not watch for judging eyes,
Or seek a mask or thin disguise.
It feels like landing on a star,
To love the soul of who we are.
No longer bound by what they say,
I simply walk my own true way.
For every struggle, every tear,
Has led me to this freedom here.
With open hands and heart set wide,
I cast the heavy ghosts aside.
I'm thankful for the quiet grace,
Of finally finding my own place.
I am at last, and fully, me -
At peace, at home, and finally free.
