Finding Love Poem by cassie slaughter

why is it so hard to find love?
even if it's sitting
right before our eyes?
a lot of people in the world
seem at lose for words
and ask themselves questions such as this
so why is it so hard to find love?
even if it's sitting
right before our eyes?
the only answer that I have found is this
we're looking for love
in all the wrong places
we think that love
at times is overrated
because we've been hurt
time and time again
by people we thought
cared so much about us
and yet
some think love
is being beat down by words
or even worst fist
but that is not love
it's abuse
and so
from my experiences in life
why it's it so hard to find love
even if it's sitting
right before our eyes
is because
we let the pain and suffering
from our past blind us from
the one true thing
that we know
will make us happy
becaus we are afraid
to be hurt
yet again.
