Finding Peace Within Poem by Marilyn Lott

Finding Peace Within

Rating: 2.8

It was on a chilly Sunday
Icy snow was on the ground
I trudged along in misery
Till I heard an organ sound

I had some heavy burdens
A family member ill
And other things bothering me
In this early morning chill

I felt a little lost that day
As worries cluttered my mind
I felt so very isolated
Peacefulness I couldn’t find

Amazing Grace was playing
In this beautiful brick-built church
I decided to just stop a moment
After all it wouldn’t hurt

I slipped inside the heavy doors
And into the very back pew
The minister was saying
Many things I knew were true

He said that God is always with us
He has such loving power
I found myself some hope again
In that very special hour!
