Finding The One Poem by Lorene Kinsey

Finding The One

Andy used to say, there's no other quite like me
Benjamin professed undying love in my eyes blue as the sea
Daniel used to be the one who'd whisper in my ear
Edwin used to tug at me ‘cause I could never be too near
Franklin used to say that I rocked his boring world
Gavin always promised that, I was his only girl
Heath liked to nudge his nose soft against my cheek
Irwin always wanted the side that was mild and meek
Joey liked to trace the lines between freckles, dot-to-dot
Kevin said he remembers how sweet I was when we were tots
Larry wanted to be the one to hold me while I'd sleep
Mark longed to kiss the lips, could never tire of all that is me
Nathan wrote love letters from his station oversea
Ollie would look into my eyes while sipping Earl Grey tea
Pieter liked to share his love for music ‘round the world
Quincy preferred the quiet way I made his head whirl
Raymond had a special way of saying that he loved
Sam said I made his heart flutter like a dove
Thomas was a wild boy with an equally fervent touch
Ulysses enjoyed our quiet time and when away missed me much
Vincent had the secrets of our afternoon rendezvous
Walter said my departures always made him wale the blues
Xavier used to like the way his sentences I would complete
Yates preferred the sexy way on the phone to him I'd speak
Now Zoe he was a quiet boy but none puzzled me so much
As Christopher who was the one that preferred me not so much
