Cornelius Caperney

Fingers - Poem by Cornelius Caperney

The first a sign to everyone that everything is fine.
The second as a pointer to mark out what is mine.
The third to brandish to the world when I have had enough.
The fourth to bind me to their soul when the going gets tough.
The fifth for when I cross my heart and give my word away.
All five for when I say 'Goodbye, until another day'.
