Fire Poem by Sally Walker

Fire

Jolts of energy electrify and intensify each emotion I feel under your fingertips.
Eyes burn too hot they're blue.
Icy cold and steaming.
Flaming body.
My hands a match ready to ignite.
I cannot maintain any of my strong desire.
You are my psychotic liar.
I love playing with your fire.
Not a toy but a joy.
Warmth that is longed for.
The length of the tour determines how much stronger my love burns.
But you shine too bright.
I become damaged the more we collide.
Yet intrigued.
Too mesmerized.
I cannot deny you.
The power you hold is too bold.
It has molded a permanent home in me.
I will never see again.
I've stared straight into the sun and come out alive. But dying inside.
