Fire Poem by Jacob Locke

Fire

Engulfed in flames is my damnation
Hell has always been my final destination
Sinner was the only hand I could play
Dear god why couldn't you have shown me the way

I feel my body slowly turning to coal
Black and hard is what becomes of my soul
It won't be long before I'm set ablaze Maybe if I close my eyes I can
remember better days

My body is starting to turn to ember
There's no love left for me to remember
I feel the heat radiate from my bones
I always knew I would die alone

I feel my body turning into ash
my inner demons start to thrash
It won't be long before I'm turned to dust
It's my punishment for living a life unjust

I'll relive this hell day by day
Nothing will change no matter how hard I pray
My body has been cast to lay on the pyre
While my demons keep burning me with fire
