Fireworks Poem by Jinkxs Coates

Fireworks

Painted fingernails, while you gently played you're guitar
I love the way your mouth moves when you say
those three words
I love the way you're mouth moves when you repeat them
will you repeat them?
Summer heat in my sweat drenched palms
while you held me close, so close
I would count your heartbeat with every song that played
I couldn't believe that I was in your bedroom
on that Summer night
Bare feet and exploding fire
the cool wind broke the heat
You just watched me
I love the way you watched me
