oh it was many a summer ago
bored was I
along the roads of life.

that first love
was broken
through the sheets of ice

i shivered
and i cried
of love that was
a wondrous delight

first love
it was
i realized
years and years
past.

of sweet longings
that were
of memories
time past.

oh how lovely
the sun seemed then
oh how lovely
the sky
for what i felt
was love
of innocence
that life would not ever
return again.
