You left your heart out and unprotected
I did anything for you to like me
Feelings like that were so unexpected
Being with you had made me feel so free
I thought it to only be a week too
Next thing I know a year had gone by
Having you there was the greatest feeling
I gave you my heart and all of my trust
In the end maybe we were too young
For I am sure both our hearts were crushed
Leaving you was so hard i know it stung
Even though it was hurting, my heart still grew
And i'm so thankful my first love was you
