First Spring Poem by Justin Reamer

First Spring

Life as it grows from
The very depths of the Earth,
As snow had covered the surface,
As if Death had laid waste
To the world for over
A millennia,
The first flower springs,
Grows from the ground,
The first sign of life.

It is beautiful,
With its colourful yellow petals
And its radiant warmth
And light as it emanates
Its luminescence from
Its pistil and anthrax.
It is birth, the first sign of life,
For spring has finally come
In the way of Demeter's mirth.
