Fishing Poem by Annette Lohan

Fishing

Rating: 4.5

I went fishing last night and
Caught a great big bag of bones
that tinkled and tangled
Themselves up in my hair.
That's when I saw you;
Half of light, half of darkness.
Swirling through my head,
Curling the tails of my mind.
When I find such
Soul full treasure,
I bathe it with my tears,
Dry with breath,
Feed this soul fire wood.
Let it burn all the days.

Lovely. I cannot see a problem with the tense of 'find' and 'bathe' Rich use of language. Can't wait to read more of your work. Eve

I'm moved by this poem, too. I find its language also consistent with a dream state-and with poetry! I appreciate your poetic diction. You probably know Yeats' 'Song of the Wandering Aengus' (of which I know a song version and sometimes play it on guitar) , another lovely poem this one brought to mind. (ps: Shouldn't the tense of 'find' and 'bathed' agree?)
