Flawed Poem by Nestor David Armas

Flawed

She's beautifully flawed
Imperfection
Deserving applaud
Beaten down and broken
But still
Someone's lucky token
Perfect at a glance
But give her a chance,
She'll disappoint you
Her sadness will make you blue,
Thinking she was a challenge,
Spur a chase;
Her dignity avenge;
But she's not
An exclusive prize
Like anyone else
She breaks down and cries,
Someone's already
Knocked on her door
And broken in
Divulged the folklore
Cracked her
Like a fortune cookie
She's no longer a mystery
Accessible to all
Accepting any collect call
Hold her up to the light
And see the dings and scratches
You can sand and buff
And you just might
Bring out the gloss;
See how the sunlight still catches...
