Fleeting Moment Poem by Wade Bouton

Fleeting Moment

Rating: 3.5

She devastated me with just a few words
My heart filled quickly with sadness
Driving me to the brink of madness

Why do her words have such an effect on me
When she’s not yet fully mine
Our relationship still undefined

I’ve only met her once in all my life
I feel much more for her than I realized
The memory of her leaving me compromised

She is constantly in my thoughts
All day long her lovely visage materialize
Her eyes have the power to hypnotize

So far away from me she is
Will we ever see each other again
If not now then when

She hides her feelings from everyone
Never wanting others to peer inside
Covering her disappointment that’s been magnified

Does she not know that I would never add to her pain
Always protective of her fragile heart
My benevolent feelings I will impart

If she could just open up her heart to me
All would be explained and she would see
The salvation she has been so desperately searching for
Can be found in front of her and her search would be no more.
