Flightless Bird Poem by Lanna Reece

Flightless Bird

Rating: 5.0

Stuck on the ground
Despite how hard it flaps
It's wings won't seem to carry it
For even a lap

It cries all day long
‘Till it eventually rests
Wondering when its turn comes
To leave the nest

This is of no bird
This is of a person
For those whom feel helpless
And as a burden

But flightless birds find alternatives
Whether waddling or swimming
They no longer have to feel
As though they're conservative
