Fling Poem by Weldon Davis

Fling

I thought we shared something
To you it was not a thing
I should've known better though really
It was just a fling

Just a night when you were lonely
I was there so you told me
Every little thing on your mind
All your hearts desires
How I made you laugh
How my intelligence you admired

Knowing I was cautious
So you acted the same
Then you acted reckless
As 'I love you' came

You said it
I felt it
Yet I did not reply
Not yet
Not ready
Truly not a lie

For love
Yea love
My heart did sing
Silly man
O silly man
It was just a fling
