Weldon Davis

Old School (Dedication) - Poem by Weldon Davis
Oldies station plays a
Love song although I wasn't there when
Disco died
Seems I'm being lumped in by
Chance...The eighties
Have been ages ago
Only to others it seems
Only as old as you feel
Last night I had a dream
Like King I was a
Old fish swimming in a
Very large pond
Encircling everything I ever hoped upon
****
My eyes need no glasses
I see clearly
Dedicated to those who came
Before me
Taught me life's
Riddles and gambles
Triumphs and shambles
And
I never would have
Made it
One second without the advice
Of those
From the old school
Topic(s) of this poem: knowledge, nostalgia, dedication
Form: Acrostic
