Flourish Poem by Michael P. Johnson

Flourish

Where darkness comes on earth to dwell
Where Satan plants his seed
Without God’s Light this spore of hell
Evolves to deadly weed

So each of us should understand
Where Satan’s feet can tread
Barren becomes that fertile land
Till plagued with shame lies dead

Unfruitful is a land of sin
Without The Morning Dew
For God to plant good Seed within
There’s something man must do

Repent and plough this land of ours
Prepare to multiply
Submit no more to Satan’s powers
But look to Christ on high

Declare the devil open war
Seek strength from He who died
Allow God’s Word bring life once more
Let Jesus turn the tide

Though Satan may fight, twist and shout
Though sorrows may increase
Until we root the devil out
There’s be on earth no peace

Though sinful when to God we pray
If to ourselves we’re true
The Lord will turn the tide one day
Revealing life anew

For every plant won’t rise above
Many are plagued with blight
Yet those producing fruits of love
May flourish in The Light
