Flower Petals - Poem by Rosetta Dove

A little girl watching out her window for her prince charming to come.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he loves me not.

The day that he comes, this love into a forbidden love.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he loves me.

Silently the tears come at night, her prince charming gone.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he loves me not.

She sees him in her dreams, apart in mind but together in spirit.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he loves me.

She wants him back, he tells her to move on. She don’t know what’s next.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he loves me not.

Baby on the way, hearts brought together once again. Prince charming finally came.

Flower petal falls to the ground without a sound, he love me.

Mistake, words said, he don’t see them getting together. Break for a month.

Flower petals around her feet, last petal in hand. The final words whispered, he loves me not.
