Flower Victims Poem by Saiom Shriver

Flower Victims

Mowers decapitate them.
Salad lovers behead them
Lovers shred them petal by petal.
Flower arrangers and artists
position their dead bodies.
Bees steal their nectar and abandon them.
Perfumers cut them to extract their smells.

Footnote:

George Bernard Shaw: I love little children but I don't cut off their heads and stick them in vases.

Sathya Sai Baba: Why pluck a flower and hasten his death.

If you love a flower, don't pick it up. Because if you pick it up it dies
and it ceases to be what you love. So if you love a flower
let it be. Love is not about possession. Love is about
appreciation. -Osho-
