Fly High Poem by nafisa baheranwala

Fly High

Caged birds don't warble
They sing a song of sorrow
Waiting for freedom
And a beautiful tomorrow
Yet all birds start their day with a song
And then all day, they warble along
Though the past had been bleak
They are hopeful and still sing
And one day, who knows
Their hopes may still take wing..
Though some become so used
To staying in a cozy cage
They are scared to venture forward
And tempt their own fate
So even if left to fly
They first run helter skelter
Then find their way back soon
To a place they know has shelter.
We humans too, do panic
And stay in a sleepy trance
So finding no real takers
Away flies our golden chance..
So venture forward with courage
And like the eagle soar high
For Fate will one day turn
And success will then come by…
