Follow My Feet Poem by Michael Barry

Follow My Feet

Rating: 2.5

When I was dancing in the sun
I found my Love amidst the doves
Glad finger haste-traced face in sand
On touching banished from my hand
If I were dancing in the rain
Would love assuage a Love refrained

Feet far so running off the world
Trip-skip along hued ocean curls
To find the place where I belong
Where whispered secrets grace the dawn
And Found Love finds soft place to fall
Where love doves rest on swaying bough

Divine Love caged the Love I see
Sweet heaven blessed the climbing tree
Where Love doves nest and sun caress
A patient piece of heaven blessed
Feet dancing grace the climbing branch
To find where love has found a chance

Where Love found once and in the sun
Paints Love where dancing colors run

I wrote this poem for a dear friend who I learned in drug treatment. Her life came to epitomize the lyrics found in a song called Run Away, by artist Aurora. This poem paints a dancing picture of inherently hopeful love and finding a Home.
