Footprints In The Sand Poem by Benson Yang

I was walking a lonely road alone
with only my own footprints in the sand
then you came into my life
brought so much happiness
then I saw both our footprints in the sand
We promised each other that
we will always be there for one another

but lately, I feel so lost again
seeing that, sometimes, there is only one
footprints in the sand
Seems like I am all alone again
back in the lonely road
with nothing but my own
footprints in the sand

When I looked back
I cannot see the footprints
that used to walk with me
Maybe this is my fate,
to walk alone for eternity
like the footprints in the sand
being washed away as the tide comes

With tears flowing in my eyes
I walked towards the sea
to vanish myself for eternity
what else is there for me
when no one will be there?
the footprints in the sand
washed away forever.
