For Each New Day Poem by Richard W. Sawyer Jr.

For Each New Day

And again, the Sun rises. Valiantly, humble, bold.
The world awakens. Opportunities unfold.
Her ray rippling warmly, Her glitter gleaming gold,
And such service she provides to them, begging nothing in return.

Fearlessly she states her case,
Makes her waves,
Mends her ways.

Nothing a soul can tell her,
she leads with strength and grace.
So we wander, forever lost,
in your timeless amber embrace.

With each new day, the sun will rise, the servant finds her calling;
For each new day the sun will rise, this day is a perpetual morning.
With each day: perpetual change, perpetual growth, endless hope,
And set ahead is a perpetual chance to make each day the most.

With each new day, a chance arrives -
A moment to be still;
To think about the bonds she's built
And the many more she will.

But when the Sun retires
far beyond our reach,
Selflessly, she leaves for us;
to learn, to teach.

We rest in solace that the sun will rise each day to come
That before our eyes,
she pushes,
and tries,
‘cross mountainous skies:
Morning day will break again.

And again, the Sun rises. Valiantly, humble, bold.

And in the land of eternal dawn, where sunlight dances forever,
We promise, we build, we dream, we forge…
Together.
