FOR POET MARTIN CARTER
Sometimes we forget
To recognize and uphold
The fine minds who once walked among us,
And whose presence here on earth,
Helped us too be who we are
And determines what the future generations would be.
But, oh! how can we forget you
Poet Martin carter?
A man so great!
A poet who wrote impacting lines
From his heart!
A personality who explored politics,
While on his earthly sojourn,
In this his native land GUYANA!
In the early years,
Our country experienced great political trauma!
And you, POET MARTIN CARTER,
Were a political fighter.
Using your poetry,
To help bring the battle,
To a victorious end!
I was inspired by you!
I cannot forget the role you played,
JUNE 12TH,2026. 2.
FOR POET MARTIN CARTER
In building this nation Guyana!
You are a part of Guyana's history!
You left your mark here. intellectually,
Spiritually and physically!
Your soul essence still pervades the atmosphere,
In this country!
Dear POET martin Carter,
You are not dead!
Just called higher service!
May God grant your soul,
Eternal rest and peace!
