i met you

and i knew

my feelings would be true



more than a couple

we became

and this we did

without shame



we threw precautions in the air

and fought for the love

we share



but at the end of the day

when I rest, on the bed I lay

to myself I say,

for how long?



for how long

do i have to wait

for the day we don't have to hide



for how long can you

stay late

here by my side,



for how long must i sit

and smile

when you talk about everything but

yourself for a long while



tell me for how long

or is there even an end

to it all?
