For Jack Lovelle Poem by Shannon Michelle

For Jack Lovelle

Motor cars and titty bars
Late nights and morning lights
A beer for breakfast
A tear for lunch
Sleep for dinner
Wake up, it's dark
Let's do it again.

Greasy smiles and half cocked brows
The music's loud and there's a crowd
Aspirin for breakfast
Skip the lunch
Sleep for dinner
Wake up, it's dark
Let's do it again

Sticky skin and chagrin
Summer heat and dirty sheets
Permanent art with no heart
Arms for breakfast
Legs for lunch
Sleep for dinner
Wake up, it's dark
Let's do it again
