For Jane, Wherever She May Be Poem by Tony Sandy

For Jane, Wherever She May Be

Her ghost wanders through my soul,
a dream within a dream
- a vision that never ends.

I walk through her fire,
an all consuming flame,
that leaves nothing behind,
not even hope.

She whispers in my darkness
of long winter nights
- full of buried desire.

Her wistfulness draws me ever near
into a misty world of timeless time,
which fogs my mind of anything
but her…

She dances like the wind
- her beauty lost in motion.
I feel her presence near
yet I am alone…

In silent wonder
I see you everywhere;
another's quiet laughter
the glint of sunlight on your hair.

In despair I call your name
but no-one answers
Only I alone remain
