For My Love Poem by Shiloh Thompson

For My Love

Never did care much for brown eyes,
Or drinking straight from the bottle,
Discussing politics until the dawn,
Or watching video games being played.

Always believed in love at first sight,
That my soul mate was out there,
But I never though I’d find him here,
Or that we’d both fall so hard together.

Always hated to be tickled or touched,
But when you do it, I’m fine with it,
Naps never were so relaxing and fun,
Until I woke up safe in your arms.

Some people say we moved too fast,
That we’re too over the top in love,
But you know something funny?
It doesn’t matter what they think.

You are my one special true love,
The other half of my broken soul,
I felt whole when I first met you,
And we’ll be so good together.

I was never bold in the game of love,
But with you it just came naturally,
And no matter what, it still does,
Because you bring out my better side.

I want a love that is forever, dear,
And you are giving it to me now,
You give me everything I need,
Whenever you look in my eyes.

So take my hand and my heart,
And I’ll give you the world,
I’ll make your dreams come true,
Just be my one and only love.
