For The Girl I Used To Love From Colorado Poem by Eli MorenoDrew

For The Girl I Used To Love From Colorado

Here I am,16th and Broadway of downtown Denver

And here you aren't.

This is my reality,

and your reality,

the hell if I knew.

I'm a mile above you

in more ways than altitude.

Homesick and alone:

a fatal combination

for those with souls,

so I expect you're doing fine.

I'll stay here in Denver

and you'll…

the hell if I cared.

But be vain

because this is about you

and anybody else

seeking refuge in change

even at the expense of a relationship.
