For The One Poem by Allistair Solomon

For The One

I smile when I'm up, I smile when I'm down.
Grin as you sling my emotions around.
You make me giddy, make me blue.
The only one I want is you.
Yet I can't have you, there will never be us.
Forever lonesome is a must.
Happy endings they are are a crime,
They never happen every time.
Very seldom, almost naught.
Barest hope is all I've got.
So for now I will settle for love from a far.
Mon cœur pleure noir
So I will hold you in my mind.
And wish that these where better times.
Some when that I could hold you tight.
Be your shield against the night.
I would protect you, the best I could.
No more evil, only good
But you won't let me, I know not why.
My nonexistent soul does cry.
