For The Soldiers Who Never Came Home Poem by Natasa To

For The Soldiers Who Never Came Home

For the Soldiers Who Never Came Home

I weep tonight for names I never knew,
For faces fading underneath the blue,
For soldiers who left home with hearts held tight,
And never saw another morning light.

My tears fall softly, one by one,
For mothers waiting for their sons,
For fathers staring through the door,
For empty chairs that speak of war.

No battlefield can measure what was lost,
No flag can hide the human cost.
Beyond the borders, beyond the blame,
Every fallen soul once had a name.

So let my tears become a prayer,
For every heart that once was there.
May those who died be held in peace,
And may the living find release.

I cannot bring the fallen home,
Or heal the hearts left to mourn alone.
I can only bow my head and say:
May they be remembered, every day.
