For Those Who Call Themselves Poets Poem by Mohd Arshad

For Those Who Call Themselves Poets

Rating: 5.0

Is it easy to compose a poem,
Pick up a pencil and make a doodle,
And compare it with the doll in a museum,
Write names of organs in colours,
Call them, the sea, the moon, the sun,
And smile with a pride of being achievers?

It is those who imagine they are poets,
And forget it is not an egg to be boiled.
It is seeing in the heaven, not parrots.

The poet's impression about poetry is simple and unambiguous. He has the depth as well as the understanding of the subject. To evaluate a poem, one needs a critical outlook which he has. Thanks.
