For Want Of A Better Name Poem by Francis Duggan

For Want Of A Better Name

How boring we would be for want of a better name
If in our interests and ways of thinking we all were the same
And on anything we could not disagree
How utterly boring indeed we would be

That variety is the spice of life only true for to say
From the mind of a wise one of a long gone day
It is from different ideas that changes are sown
We are all individuals with thoughts of our own

Though the like minded enjoy each others company
And on many subjects are known to agree
Sameness can become quite a boring thing
It is those with new ideas that changes does bring

Variety is the spice of life as a truism remain
The meaning of this it's own self does explain
How boring we would be for want of a better name
If in our ways and our tthinking we all were the same.
