For Women Taught To Shame Poem by Victor Adex

For Women Taught To Shame

so poetry lives in this body
that has been taught to shame itself
it wells up as a rebellion
a switchblade to the
well bred, well fed lies
of a delinquent loosing status quo
.
poetry is serialized
in the ratio of ostracized body sizes
in the brain that dwells inside her head
in the flames that ignites within her soul
.
so to women who may one day hate themselves
buzzed by the high
of oppressed insanity on rampage
poetry lives within you too!
.
within the overflowing glows
within the reasons why you hid yourself
within your tears and blood flow
poetry lives within you
.
straighten your gait
caress a smile
and walk home
for your lovers await
the delight of your heritage.
