Forever Fades Poem by Michael Matsuda

Forever Fades

Father Time, it is you whom I address
You are a sorcerer and a demon
The reaper, a named so inclined
Don't kill with a scythe but with the sands of time.
Why does pain heal so slow
these mind games of brutality
enjoyment evaporates so fast
speed of time seems to fluctuate throughout actuality

You can only climb so high
ceilings impede the ascending
from such a height I will surely break the floors
To fall, to waver lower than before
never to Asura, never a hedonist,
but to the demons will I be fed
to the depths, I deserved this

Friends fade away becoming clear
Leaving my body, color has abandoned me
Here I rest average height below in this mahogany
wait I cannot grasp, I am beguiled
Transparency hath no hue
towards the stars or below coffin, I will think awhile.

Stray to this world I wonder
This city is ironic at best
Beggars have more hope than the rest
Kids will always play
The parents work all day

Monotonous drones will they be
I've died and gone to hell
Just to wake up another day eternity
I'm sure to make this time count

Don't relive old memories and just mingle
strive and live to make new ones
We are 'Well Thought out Twinkles'

Life just like this poem, we will fade away
not line by line, but day by day

Everything but time ends up this way
