Weight from pain on my shoulders
Mirrors the tears from my eyes
Smouldering pain from within
Like a lion's foot from a thorn.
No day exists without you
And my nights are ghostly too.
Where does my heart reside now?
In loneliness its new home.
With winds on wings of flight
You sailed away from me
My nights are darkened skies
Hid your bright star above the clouds.
I dream of your return
My hope in midwinter
To colour my grey canvas,
Give life back to my heart.
To death I am born
In matter of the hearts
Its inner curtain torn in two
Despair and depression.
You are the thread that
Held my light together
Without it I fear my blind walk
In uncharted darkness.
Every second in my stanza
A pulse without its beat
My rhythm and rhyme
A poem forever lost!
