Forever Or This Poem by Charles Malcolm

Forever Or This

We were never going to age
like American singles.
Last for a lengthy,
undetermined and unnatural
amount of time.

Let's call it
eighteen months.

Your twinkling finger
or my bleeding fist.

It was always
either going to be
forever
or
this.
