it was when the dust
settled and cannonballs
stopped high walls
from standing
that I ventured
into rebirth,
a naked gain
in real-time, hide,
in minute by minute,
pain by pain,
thigh by thigh, discourse
from inside, tender,
and it was in that grace
that I raised the dust
and made new clouds
once more
