Forget The Hearts And Flowers Poem by Frances Ayers

Forget The Hearts And Flowers

Forget the hearts and flowers
And pretty gifts that bring smiles
Instead remember hours
Of heartbreak that stayed awhile
Sorrow like an unwelcome guest
Infiltrates like an open sore
And somehow I gave you my best
As you slowly headed for the door
