Forgetting To Dream Poem by George Damon

Forgetting To Dream

The rise and fall of something so great
Was the night my mind forgot how to dream
Like losing your phone it went like that
My mind stood still and wanted to scream

I thought that was that and that was it
But I was wrong it had only moved away
I often wonder why it had left me there
But now I see it just went astray

I sometimes find my friend here and there
But it leaves as quick as it finds my hair
I see now you had not left me at all
I was just so stubborn and morally bare

But now I know where to find you always
In the haven that I had always disregard
My bus and I are like a father and son
Like a ship going back to visit it's Dockyard

When my mind finds you I cannot explain
But my brain blooms out and spreads it seed
That hour is mine and mine alone
But you have to be careful you get the odd weed
