Forgiven Poem by Amy Bradshaw

Forgiven

Rating: 4.8

She would lock herself away
alone in the silence she would stay
the darkness swallowing her, chilling her to the bone
She'd fallen to her knees
Pale and solemnly left to be
She stared in the darkness and raised her hands to pray
Her voice quivered a few words, but only what she had
longed to say
These words shattered all of what kept her down
With a clear view she could now be found
A sudden burst of breath escaped from her chest
She lay lifeless upon the cold bricks
here a child of the blessed
