Forgiving Spirit Poem by Rik Bertrand

Forgiving Spirit

We all have our secrets, and our tales untold,
We have days of destruction where are hearts run cold.
We all wear a mask at one time or another,
If only to give us time for our emotions to recover.

Life hits us all with tragedy and despair,
And sometimes we thing that this can't be fair,
But life makes us strong when it works out this way,
It turns us to God as we kneel and we pray.

Do you ever wonder why we are who we are?
And why some things we do are totally bizarre?
Do you wander what fate is, and if it applies
to all of our truths and all of our lies?

We all have our secrets and I'll tell you mine
I have been here since way before time.
I am the spirit of all that is living,
I am the spirit in charge of all the forgiving.

REB (MARCH 2012) because you should know who I really am
