Forgotten Poem by RIC BASTASA

Forgotten

early dawn
five of you arrive
bringing
gifts

wrapped, closed
i did not open them

you left
and then the gifts are gone

i want to remember
them again

but it is a waste of time
opportunity
knocks only once

i am getting older
and what i always remember
is regret.
