The place that I love is higher than most.
Fourteen stories high, you can see to the coast.
The calm that it brings makes me feel like I'm home.
I share it with friends or I go there alone.
With a park well in view, and the skyline beyond
They're all somehow connected; they all have a bond.
The cars hustle past like cells in a vein.
I marvel at night, watch them follow their lane.
The lights look like stars but they're under my feet,
Makes me feel upside down as I stare at the street.
Reminds me that things aren't always what you see
For the bloom far away is actually a tree;
That up is not down, and cars aren't that small.
So I scream out my fears and let all of them fall.
Keep this place in my heart for whenever I call
'Cause I feel so damn mighty fourteen stories tall.
