Fourteen Years Ago

Poem by Paul Bryan Friedman

My mommy's mine.
loves us all the time
loves others you will find.
I can't express
feels like such duress.
I can't explain
I can take pain
I can't be scared
I have never dared.
Twenty years in so brief.
On my own,
all alone,
how can I manage?
My reason's gone,
how to go on,
I don't know.
Deja vu,
fourteen years ago.
