Fray Poem by Claire Taggart

Fray

Clenching my fist
Looking into your eyes
Feeling this burning hate begin to rise

I give in
You have won
Actions can never be undone

Why fight fire with fire
Disposing of this match
I know I am wiser
From you I will detach

If only love didn't stand in my way
Strings wrapped around my heart
Slowly they begin to fray
